SKULT: A New Chapter in Zambia’s Digital Economy

On 24 June 2026, Emu Technologies Limited officially launched SKULT, a homegrown Zambian social media and video-sharing platform created to give Zambians a digital space where they can Be Seen, Be Heard, and Be Zed.
The launch marked an important milestone in Emu Technologies’ ambition to build technology that is not only developed in Zambia, but designed around the opportunities, culture, creativity and aspirations of Zambians.
SKULT was created around a simple belief: everyone should have an opportunity to be discovered.
In a digital world where visibility can create opportunities for creators, entrepreneurs, artists, businesses and ordinary users, SKULT seeks to provide a platform where people can showcase their talents, connect with communities, build audiences and participate in Zambia’s growing digital economy.

SKULT’s mission is to empower Zambians to express themselves, connect with others, discover opportunities and create economic value through a locally built digital platform.
The platform brings together social interaction, video sharing, creator discovery, entertainment and digital rewards in one ecosystem.

Our Objectives
SKULT's objectives are centred around five key areas.
First, to empower creators. SKULT seeks to give musicians, comedians, dancers, educators, entrepreneurs, poets, influencers, storytellers and other creators tools to publish content, grow communities and increase their visibility.
Second, to create opportunities. Through features such as creator discovery, leaderboards, referrals, rewards and monetisation, SKULT aims to create pathways through which participation and creativity can generate value.
Third, to connect brands with talent. Through Smart SKULT, the platform is also developing solutions that can help businesses and brands discover relevant creators and build meaningful partnerships within Zambia's emerging creator economy.
Fourth, to celebrate Zambian identity. SKULT is designed around the idea of “By Zambia, For Zambians” — creating a digital environment where local stories, languages, creativity, culture and experiences can have a place to thrive.
Finally, to contribute to Zambia's digital transformation. Emu Technologies aims for SKULT to demonstrate what locally developed technology can achieve when innovation is combined with local understanding and ambition.
